I’ve got some exciting news: I’ve finally started the site update I’ve been meaning to do for a while. Which means, I’ve finally got a blog set up that is attached to my main photography site. So I will no longer be posting on this blog. All the old post will be here, but if you want to get new exciting updates from me 😉 you should head over to the new blog and subscribe!
Here’s the link, and don’t forget to “follow” so you can get the alerted by email when I post something new:
Two weekends ago, the hubby and I flew to Washington to photograph an awesome wedding. Erika has been a friend of mine since elementary school, and I was so happy when her and Chris asked me to photograph their wedding. Plus, they are beautiful people so it made my job so easy. Their wedding was small, super gorgeous, and planned in only two months! Two reasons Erika and Chris’s wedding was, like, totally rad:
1. Erika thought my main wedding color, teal, was pretty, so she decided to use it as well. The small backyard reception was so amazingly coordinated (thanks to Chris’s mom) with the color, it looked professionally decorated. I just love that color so much, it made me happy seeing it everywhere!
2. There was a good chunk of time between the ceremony and the reception, so I got to do photos with just Chris and Erika for TWO hours. Having all that time and not being rushed meant we could really get some great photos of them! I ended up with so many stunning photos that I’m really excited to share here.
My sister-in-law Clarissa needed a few head shots, and last month we were both in New Mexico so we did a quick photoshoot. We had a lots of fun and she’s so pretty and easy to work with! Since she’s family, she HAD to let me play around and experiment with some fun light set ups! By using an off camera flash, I was able to make a black background in the middle of the day, pretty cool, huh? We also used some close-up filters to get some awesome shots of her gorgeous blue eyes!
I love love love photographing horse. Unfortunately, I do not get to do it very often. Last month though I got the opportunity to take pictures of Alexis and her two horses Mack and Flash. Mack was such a great model and a totally amazing jumper! I only did a few pasture pictures with Flash, but she was so friendly!
Grace and I met way back in middle school, and since that time, we’ve both gotten significantly less awkward. In fact, Grace has gotten downright gorgeous, which made her so much fun to photograph! And, she’s also an amazing potter, and we had fun taking pictures of her with her work (which is super amazing by the way!).
I may be a little biased on this point, but I think my friends, Kayla and RJ may have had the most beautiful wedding ever! My reasons for the bias? Well Kayla is one of my best friends, and the wedding actually took place at the same venue as my wedding. I think you’ll agree though, that they are one gorgeous couple. Here are just a few sneak peaks for now, but I’m almost finished editing, so there will be more coming!
My cousin is trying out to be in a play and needed some head-shots done, so I got to take some photos of both my cute little cousins. The pictures were adorable, and my cousin got a callback for the Sound of Music! Added bonus: their cat (who used to be my brother’s cat) is apparently the perfect companion for small kids and doesn’t mind being man handled for a picture.
